Hisham Akira Bharoocha BIO:

Hisham Akira Bharoocha is a Japanese-born, Brooklyn based artist concentrating on creating visual art and music. Hisham was first known as one of the founding members of the experimental rock group Black Dice. He left the group after 7 years he started his solo project Soft Circle. Bharoocha is also known for his involvement with organizing the large scale performance 77 BOADRUM alongside Boredoms, an experimental group based in Japan, where the group performed with 77 drummers on trap kits on July 7th, 2007 in Dumbo Brooklyn. Bharoocha has been the main musical director for their large scale performances since then until now, the most recent performance being held at Barbican (London) where 88 cymbal players performed with the now 15 piece group. Hisham has done numerous improvisational collaborations with sound artists and visual artists, most notably his collaborations with Doug Aitken on his “happenings” which range from site specific performances at MoMA, LACMA, to the traveling exhibition / performance project Station to Station curated by Aitken. Bharoocha is the leader of the group IIII consisting of Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Ben Vida (Pan Records), Ryan Sawyer (Thurston Moore, Lonewolf) and himself. They have organized large scale performances incorporating local musicians and have been invited to perform at prestigious theaters such as the Sydney Opera House (Sydney Australia) and the Royal Festival Hall (London).

ヒシャム・アキラ・バルーチャは日本で生まれ、ブルックリンを拠点にしながらビジュアル・アートと音楽をクリエイトするアーティスト。彼は実験的ロック・グループであるブラック・ダイスの創立メンバーとして注目され、結成７年後に脱退し、ソフト・サークルとしてソロ活動を開始。ヒシャムは日本を拠点にする実験的グループ、ボアダムスの大規模なパフォーマンスである77 BOADRUMのオーガナイザーでもあり、2007年7月7日にブルックリンのダンボで開催された77人のドラマーによるパフォーマンスにも参加した。彼は当時からこのパフォーマンスの音楽ディレクターとして関わっており、最新のパフォーマンスはバービカン（ロンドン）で開催された88人のシンバル奏者と15編成のグループとの共演だった。ヒシャムは様々なサウンド・アーティストやビジュアル・アーティストとコラボレーションをしており、中でもダグ・エイトケンとはMoMA、LACMAで開催された”ハプニング”パフォーマンス、エイトケンがキュレーションをした”Station to Station”と呼ばれるトラベリング展示会/パフォーマンス・プロジェクトにも関わった。ヒシャムはブライアン・チェイス（ヤー・ヤー・ヤーズ）、ベン・ヴァイダ（パン・レコーズ）、ライアン・ソーヤー（サーストン・ムアー、ローンウルフ）とのグループであるIIIIのリーダーでもある。彼らは地元ミュージシャンを取り入れた大規模なパフォーマンスで知られており、シドニー・オペラ・ハウス（オーストラリア・シドニー）やロイヤル・フェスティバル・ホール（ロンドン）などの名誉ある劇場でも演奏をしたことがある。

SunEye BIO:
Originally from Tokyo and now residing in LA, SunEye is a music project by Hashim & Akiko Bharoocha. Coming from a music, visual art, and film background, they blend electronics, world music, ambient, and breakbeats to create a cosmic world of sound. They have produced tracks for dublab.com compilations, and released their first self-titled EP on bandcamp.com on November, 23, 2015. Inspired by the beautiful nature and skies of Hawaii, they created the character “KUMOKO” which is a spirit child of the clouds, on January 17, 2011. They produced and curated the “KUMOKO” compilation, and are planning to nurture the “KUMOKO” character in various fields while continuing to create music as SunEye.

SunEyeは東京出身、現在はLAを拠点にするハシム＆アキコ・バルーチャの夫婦ユニット。音楽、ビジュアル・アート、映像の創作活動に関わってきた彼らは、エレクトロニクス、ワールド・ミュージック、アンビエント、ブレイクビーツを融合させたコズミック・サウンドをクリエイトし、dublab.comのコンピレーションに楽曲を提供しながら、2015年11月23日にbandcamp.comからEPをリリース。2011年1月17日にハワイの大自然にインスピレーションを受けた二人は、『KUMOKO』という天空の精霊キャラクターを生み出す。このコンピレーションをプロデュースした二人は、今後もSunEyeとしての音楽活動を継続していきながら、『KUMOKO』を様々な分野で育ませていく予定。
